Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information My Jockey HVAC Services collects when you call us, fill out a form, or visit our website, how we use it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, call us and we will walk you through it.

1. Who we are

My Jockey HVAC Services is a licensed heating, cooling, and indoor air quality contractor serving the Capital Region of New York. Our office is at 1350 U.S. Route 9, Gansevoort, NY 12831.

This policy covers our website at my-jockey.com, the service pages we run for our advertising, and the phone numbers we publish. By using our site or calling us, you agree to what is described here.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you fill out a form or call us, we collect what you provide, which usually includes:

  • Your name
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address, if you give us one
  • Your ZIP code or service address
  • The service you need and any details you share about your system or the problem

We ask for the minimum we need to call you back and get a technician to the right place.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, our systems and our analytics providers automatically record:

  • Your IP address and general location, such as city or region
  • Your browser and device type
  • The pages you viewed and how long you stayed
  • The website or ad that sent you to us, including advertising click identifiers

3. Phone calls and call recording

We use call tracking so we know which ads and pages actually bring in service calls. When you tap a phone number on our website or in one of our ads, your call may be routed through a tracking number before it reaches our office. The call still reaches us normally.

For each call we may record the phone number you called from, the number you dialed, the date and time, the length of the call, and the ad or page that led you to call.

Please note

Calls to and from our office may be recorded or monitored for quality, training, and record keeping. If you would prefer that your call is not recorded, tell the person you are speaking with and we will accommodate you, or you can reach us in writing instead using the contact information at the bottom of this page.

4. Text messages

If you give us your mobile number, we may text you about your service request, your appointment, or a quote you asked for. These are messages about work you contacted us about, not marketing blasts.

Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Message frequency varies. You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP, and you can reply HELP for assistance. Stopping texts will not affect the service work itself, we will simply call you instead.

We will not text you marketing offers unless you have agreed to receive them.

5. Cookies and advertising

Our site uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to work. Others help us understand how the site is used and whether our advertising is working.

What we use them for

  • Analytics. To see which pages people use and where the site is confusing or slow.
  • Advertising measurement. When you arrive from a Google ad, a click identifier is attached to your visit so we can tell whether that ad produced a real service call. This is how we avoid wasting money on advertising that does not work.
  • Remarketing. We may show you our ads again on other sites after you visit ours.

How to control them

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as well. You can also control Google's advertising cookies at adssettings.google.com, and opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on.

6. How we use your information

We use what we collect to:

  • Call you back and answer your question
  • Schedule and perform service, and get a technician to the right address
  • Prepare quotes and estimates
  • Follow up about work you asked about
  • Keep records of the work we did and the parts we used
  • Handle billing, financing applications, and warranty claims
  • Measure whether our advertising is bringing in real customers
  • Improve our website and our service
  • Meet legal, licensing, insurance, and tax obligations

7. How we share information

We share information only where we need to. Specifically:

Companies that run our systems

We use outside providers for our customer records, scheduling, call tracking, website hosting, and advertising measurement. They can access your information only to do that work for us, and they are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Companies that help complete your job

If your job involves financing, a manufacturer warranty, a permit, or a specialty subcontractor, we share what is needed to complete it.

Legal and safety

We will share information if the law requires it, if we receive a valid legal request, or if it is needed to protect our rights, our employees, or someone's safety.

If the business changes hands

If My Jockey is sold or merges with another company, customer records may transfer as part of that business. We would tell you if that happened and this policy changed as a result.

8. We do not sell your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade your contact details to anyone. We are an HVAC contractor, not a lead broker. The information you give us is used to serve you and to run our own business.

9. How long we keep it

We keep customer and service records for as long as we need them for the work, our warranties, and our legal and tax obligations. Records tied to installed equipment are generally kept for the life of the warranty and for a reasonable period after, because that history matters when we service the system later.

If you asked for a quote and never became a customer, we keep the inquiry for a limited time and then remove it. You can ask us to remove it sooner.

10. How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including secure connections on our website and access limits on our customer records.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise that a transmission over the internet is completely safe. Please do not send sensitive information such as full payment card numbers or a Social Security number through a website form or a text message. If we need something like that, we will tell you a secure way to provide it.

11. Your choices and rights

You can, at any time:

  • Ask what we have. Request a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Correct it. Tell us something is wrong and we will fix it.
  • Ask us to delete it. We will delete what we are not required to keep for warranty, legal, insurance, or tax reasons.
  • Stop marketing. Reply STOP to a text, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or just tell us.
  • Decline call recording. Tell the person you are speaking with.

To make any of these requests, use the contact information below. We may need to verify who you are before we act, which usually means confirming details of your account or service address. We do not charge for this and we will not treat you differently for asking.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's law. If you tell us which state you are in, we will apply whatever rights you are entitled to.

12. Children's privacy

Our services are for homeowners and property owners. Our website is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Our site may link to other companies, such as a financing partner or an equipment manufacturer. Once you leave our site, their privacy policy applies, not ours. We suggest reading it before you give them information.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use information you already gave us, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you directly.

15. How to contact us

Questions about this policy, or want us to access, correct, or delete your information? Reach out and a real person will handle it.
