What My Jockey Does

One Contractor, Every HVAC Need

Capital Region homes need full HVAC coverage. Brutal winters that test heating systems, humid summers that test cooling systems, indoor air that gets sealed up for months, and houses old enough to have boilers but modern enough to want zoning. We cover all of it.

Most HVAC contractors are good at one thing. A heating company that also does cooling because the technicians had downtime in summer. A new-construction installer that took on service calls because the new-build market slowed down. A boiler specialist that gets out of their depth on a modern variable-speed heat pump install. The work shows it.

My Jockey is built differently. Each of our six service silos has dedicated depth: furnaces and forced-air heating, central AC and cooling, gas and oil boilers, tankless and tank water heaters, whole-home indoor air quality, and HVAC zoning systems. Our technicians cross-train across silos because real Capital Region homes don't have neat single-system problems. A furnace replacement often opens up the right moment for zoning. An AC upgrade is the natural time to add an air scrubber. Water heater replacements often happen alongside boiler work. One contractor handling all of it means decisions get made with the whole system in mind, not just the part that broke.

The six service silos below cover what we do. Each pillar links into the specific services that fall under it. Pick the one closest to your need to see the depth, or call us directly if you're not sure which path fits. Need help finding service in your specific town? Why One Contractor

The Case For Single-Vendor HVAC

Most Capital Region homes need work across multiple HVAC categories during any given decade. Here's what changes when one contractor handles all of it.

01

Decisions Made With Whole-System Context

A furnace replacement decision changes when we know your AC is also aging out. An IAQ recommendation changes when zoning is on your near-term radar. One contractor sees the whole system.

02

Bundled Work Costs Less Than Separate Jobs

Installing zoning during HVAC replacement, adding IAQ during AC upgrade, or doing water heater work alongside boiler service all cut install costs significantly versus separate trips.

03

One Phone Number For Any Problem

Furnace acting up, AC making noise, water heater leaking, air feels off. The first call goes to the same number. We figure out which silo the issue lives in and respond accordingly.

04

Cross-System History Stays In One Record

Service history for your furnace, AC, boiler, water heater, and IAQ system lives in one customer file. Future technicians arrive informed instead of starting from scratch every visit.

FAQ

HVAC Services Questions

The questions Capital Region homeowners ask most when comparing HVAC contractors or trying to figure out which service they actually need.

Just call. Most homeowners can describe what's happening (no heat, weird sound, uneven temperatures, high humidity, water leak) without needing to know what category it falls into. We figure out which silo the issue lives in during the conversation and route the right technician for the situation. The whole point of being a single-vendor HVAC contractor is that you don't have to diagnose your own problem before calling.
Yes. Emergency furnace repair and emergency AC repair are core services. When your heat goes down in January or your AC fails during a July heat wave, we respond same-day whenever possible. Call the main number and let us know it's urgent. For non-emergency requests, we still respond fast but normal scheduling rules apply.
We're brand-flexible across all silos. Heating: Carrier, Lennox, Trane, Goodman, Bryant. Cooling: same brands plus Mitsubishi for mini-splits. Boilers: Weil-McLain, Burnham, Navien combi units. Water heaters: Rheem, Bradford White, AO Smith, Rinnai tankless. IAQ: Aprilaire humidifiers, Air Scrubber Plus, Aerus, RGF. Zoning: Flair smart vents plus Honeywell, Ecobee, EWC, and Zonex damper systems. We pick based on your situation rather than what gets us the biggest manufacturer rebate.
Yes. Financing is available on larger installs (HVAC system replacement, boiler installation, water heater installation, zoning systems). Specific terms depend on the project size and the lender, but in most cases there are options for spreading the cost across monthly payments rather than paying upfront. We discuss financing during the quote conversation. As a Home Depot authorized installer, we also have access to Home Depot's project financing.
No. The honest answer is that the long-term economics of a contractor pushing unnecessary work don't work in upstate New York. We serve a tight market where reputation matters and bad reviews stick. The technicians and owner have specific incentives against overselling: returning to a home for years of follow-up service means more if the homeowner trusts the original recommendation. That said, we will tell you when something is worth doing soon (a 15-year-old water heater alongside boiler work, for example) even if it wasn't what you originally called about. The judgment is on whether the recommendation actually saves you money or hassle versus whether it just adds to our invoice.
This is where the single-vendor approach pays off most. Bundled work across silos saves significant install cost versus separate jobs. Common combinations: HVAC replacement plus zoning (zoning install drops sharply when ductwork is already accessible), AC replacement plus IAQ (air scrubber and humidifier integrate during the same install), boiler replacement plus indirect water heater (shared heat source, single visit). We price bundled work transparently so you can see the savings vs separate quotes.
The service areas overview covers every Capital Region city we serve, with dedicated pages for Saratoga Springs, Albany, Clifton Park, Schenectady, Troy, Ballston Spa, Malta, Niskayuna, Glens Falls, Queensbury, Mechanicville, and Latham. Each location page has neighborhood-specific details and direct booking. If your specific town isn't listed but you're in the Capital Region, call us and we'll confirm coverage.
