Boiler Down? We Respond Same Day.
Emergency boiler repair across the Capital Region. Real local dispatcher, trucks stocked with common parts, most repairs done in a single visit. When your heat goes out, every hour matters.
A Quick Patch That Fails In Two Weeks Isn't A Repair
Real diagnostics, real fixes, real parts. The job done right the first time.
Capital Region winters demand a boiler that works every time. When yours doesn't, you need a team that responds fast and fixes it properly the first time. Most boiler problems trace back to a handful of common failure modes: circulator pumps that have seized, ignition or pilot system failures, zone valves that won't open, pressure relief valves that have given out, or scale buildup that's blocking heat exchange. Diagnosing the actual cause matters more than swapping parts and hoping.
Our service trucks carry the common boiler parts and components we know are most likely to be needed. That means most repairs finish in a single visit instead of waiting two days on a parts order while your house is cold. Licensed technicians work on every type of residential boiler we encounter across the Capital Region: oil, natural gas, propane, steam, and hot water systems from every major manufacturer.
If the diagnosis shows your boiler is past the point where repair makes sense, we'll tell you that honestly. Sometimes a repair quote on a 22-year-old system that's failed three times this season is the wrong answer. In those cases we walk you through the math on boiler replacement and let you decide. For boilers that are still in good shape, annual boiler maintenance is the cheapest way to prevent repair calls in the first place. See the full boiler service range for everything we cover.
While You Wait, Check These
Sometimes the problem is something you can fix in 30 seconds, no service call needed. Try these basic checks before our truck pulls up. If the boiler still isn't running, our tech will dig deeper when they arrive.
Five things to try before our tech arrives
-
Thermostat batteries and setting Dead batteries or accidentally bumped to "cool" stops the boiler from firing
-
Boiler power switch and breaker Many boilers have a dedicated switch on the unit and a breaker in the panel. Check both.
-
Pressure gauge reading Healthy reading is usually 12-15 psi cold, 18-22 psi hot. Way too low or way too high means call.
-
Oil tank level (oil systems only) If you're heating with oil, check the tank gauge. Empty tank is a quick fix and a common cause.
-
Reset button (one time only) If the boiler has a reset button, you can press it once. Multiple resets can damage the system.
Common Boiler Problems We See Most
If your symptoms match one of these, here's what's typically going on and what the fix usually involves.
Boiler Won't Fire
Ignition or pilot system failure, gas valve issue, thermocouple problem, or a tripped safety control. Could also be a thermostat or wiring issue.
Strange Noises
Scale and mineral buildup in the heat exchanger, trapped air in the system, failing circulator pump bearings, or expansion tank issues that cause water hammer.
Uneven Heat Distribution
Zone valves stuck closed, circulator pump on a specific zone has failed, air trapped in radiators or baseboards, or balancing valves out of adjustment after years of service.
Leaks Or Dripping
Failed pressure relief valve, corroded fitting, expansion tank failure, or in worst cases a cracked heat exchanger. Speed of diagnosis matters here, even a slow leak can cause real damage.
Boiler Turning On & Off
Oversized boiler for current heat load, low system pressure, faulty aquastat or low water cutoff, bad flame sensor, or limit control acting up. Short cycling burns fuel and wears parts fast.
Low System Pressure
Small leak somewhere in the system, automatic fill valve has failed, expansion tank waterlogged, or air pockets in the loop. Often shows up alongside uneven heat or noisy operation.

- Flat diagnostic fee disclosed before we dispatch
- Full credit toward repair if you proceed
- Written repair quote before any work begins
